Music is part of our life in Italy, we are famous for our dialect across the small city and we have many songs with the very strong venetian dialect. Most of these songs are very romantic and always take place in a gondola ride. I will try to select the most 3 famous venetian songs that represents Venice and the gondolas. I call this post “Quando la gondola diventa musica”, it means (When the gondola became music), because these songs illustrate and tells a story about the gondola.

Canzoni tipiche veneziani con gondola
Here a venetian gondola draw.

Biondina in gondoéta”. A venetian song about a blonde hair woman on a gondola ride, she was very tired and fell to sleep on his arm
(i guess the gondolier’s arm). It all happened because of the nice and relaxing movement of the gondola on the water, and the soothing voice of the gondoliers singing. further more in the song, we can easily understand how good and enjoyable the atmosphere around the the gondola. Half of the moon was covered by a white cloud. The weather was very good and little bit cloudy but without wind. He can feel just a little of air and he sow the movement of the blond hair on his breast. And the end of this song, we can full imagine the romantic situation they go throw.

Here the original words in the venetian dialect of this famous Venetian Songs

No, mai più tantobeato ai me zorni no sò stà! E po’ canta finalmente come, sensa alcun costruto, ti è restà, là, a muso suto.

Other two very famous song i select for you, are “Gondolí, Gondolà” (A song about a british girl, riding a gondola in the middle of the famous Canal Grande, and looking the moon she sing, “Gondolì, Gondolà), another beautiful song is “La gondoliera”.
